Hello everyone, welcome to the first Headline News. These will be Early Access reviews, with a new rule. If I review it in Early Access, I have to provide a full review around release.
Delver is a first person action roguelike dungeon crawl with crunchy pixels.Take the role of an adventurer that tries their fate in the dark dungeons (and probably dies horribly). Fight monsters, grab loot, hoard potions, and level up!
Come with me, brave adventurer. Let the bard’s lute set the tone as I weave my magical tale…
So, to start with, this game is a first person hack and slash game. You explore a dungeon with multiple levels, each getting progressively harder. The controls are really smooth, and the atmosphere is wonderful.
I’ve actually had this game since it went live on TIGSource, and when the developer put it up for sale, I purchased it that day. The game has only improved, and I’m looking forward to the Final release, whenever that is. The music is wonderful, as is the art style and gameplay.
Being early access, the game isn’t finished. While I do not know all the plans for the game, I do know of one bug I’ve found. In the beginning, you can actually walk into a decorative feature on one of the walls.
Overall, I do recommend Delver. If you were waiting to pick it up, do so while it’s at a lower price.
