ReignMaker is a match three city management game. You build a city to help fuel your tower which you use to conquer the world. It’s not a difficult concept to pick up, though the bosses can be challenging. You upgrade various buildings to unlock more spells, weapons and classes that help you take on waves of enemies.
After each battle, you are tasked with a political task. It usually deals with some sort of issue the towns people have, though at times it deals with a boss you defeated. This task usually alters your towns stance, changing a bonus you receive from how the world views you.
The soundtrack for this game is pretty decent. It’s not great, but it fits the theme of the game. My only complaint is they use the Charge taps sound effect when you start a battle. Otherwise, it’s not bad.
I did encounter a resize bug in the game. I switched from fullscreen to windowed, however it stayed full screen, but rendered a windowed mode inside full screen making two menus. I should have gotten a screenshot, but hindsight. I however have not been able to replicate it.
Overall, I give ReignMaker a bread rating. It serves it’s purpose and is a decent time killer, but it’s nothing groundbreaking and certainly not a classic. It does have a decent soundtrack, and can be fun at times, but it’s not anything you haven’t seen before.
