Tiny & Big, a comic styled jump and slice platformer, gives you the unique ability to shape a whole world at your will! You are Tiny, a nerdy inventor who tries to reclaim his most beloved possession: Grandpa’s white, fine rib underpants! On his journey through a forsaken desert he will meet mysterious creatures, no clowns, a taxi robot and his arch enemy: Big!
Well, I took my time, beat the game, and now to slice it open and review it.
Tiny and Big is a platformer puzzle 3D game kind of like the dungeons in Zelda, except you break stuff other than pots. You move around and use three different “tools” to help navigate the terrain and find secrets.
The gameplay itself is really fun, and finding your way around to various secrets is a challenge in itself. Also fun is breaking the game with the various tools to find new paths to where you’re supposed to go.
There are various songs for this game, found in the form of cassettes. They range from muzak to full lyrical pieces. It fits the game really well, and I must say it’s worth buying by itself.
A game with unlimited cutting is not without bugs. The more you cut, the more powerful of a graphics card you will need. However, that in itself is not a bug. I did manage to break the physics a few times, such as skipping the whole second level by glitching some of the objects to let me pass it.
Overall, I give Tiny & Big a half a grilled cheese rating. It’s a really great game, but it’s main menu is where I’m cutting points. I get about 60-75 FPS in game, but for some reason only get 12-25 on the main menu. It’s just a menu, but that is a negative for me. I do recommend the game to anyone who wants to play something a little different.
