Big News… The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human!

Explore the ruins of the human race and discover the thriving wildlife that blossomed after our extinction in this underwater action/adventure. Encounter monstrous creatures and let curiosity guide you through an inevitable voyage of extinction.

Something on the radar! Man your harpoons! Man the torpedoes! Man… wait, I’m the only one on this ship.

First, for the rest of this review I’ll just be calling the game Aquatic. In Aquatic, you navigate your way through an ocean covered Earth, seeing the ruins of humanity and various sea life and megafauna that have come about after our departure. The game is controlled via WASD and the mouse by default, but it does have rebindable keys. It’s a simple pickup, but fun exploration.

I don’t think they’re lovin’ it.

As you explore, you find various obstacles in your path. These are removed via various upgrades you find. Most of the game is pretty peaceful, but there are bosses, and they are not easy.

I hated killing him. He cried in pain, but wouldn’t fight back.

The game has a very well done aesthetic. The pixel art blends well together, and the various fauna are very well done. The world really feels like you are exploring a drowned Earth, and the remains of humanity are properly algae covered, as far as I can tell.

Aww, baby squids

The music is one of the biggest highlights to this title. It blends well with the atmosphere, making the world feel immersive. Have a listen to just this track alone.

It’s a whale of a tale.

Overall, I give The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human a Grilled Cheese rating. It’s an amazing title, with wonderful atmosphere, art and exploration. The bosses are hard, but when you finally beat them, you mostly feel satisfied. I highly recommend picking this title up.
